EVERYTHING WILL GLOW FOR YOU

I'm not really sure how I've reached the old (and wise) age at which someone age sixteen is classified as "young".  Time flies, and in the blink of the eye, I'm twenty-one and marvelling over the talents of a girl who was born in the same year my education began.  The girl in question is, Lorde, a New Zealand musician who can be billed as something along the lines of what Lana Del Rey was supposed to be.  Similar to Birdy, YouTube sensation widely known for her cover of Bon Iver's Skinny Love, but with a lot more soul, Lorde is the It Girl of 2013, the rising artist you need to know.  Her first single, Royals is making waves in the United States, especially after having been remixed by R&B maven, Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd.

ROYALS
Lorde has perfected the whole indie songstress who kind of raps act.  It's makes for a very unique product, and lyrically, Royals is Tweet-worthy, with materialistically saturated alliterations that are perfect for reminding your social media circle of just how cool you are.

TENNIS COURT
Channeling Sinead O'Connor's iconic Nothing Compares 2U music video is a guaranteed way to win me over.  Lorde does just that in her vid for Tennis Court, gazing continuously into the camera with huge, soul-evoking eyes for three minutes.

BRAVADO (FFFRRANNNO REMIX)
Bravado is my favourite Lorde track so far.  Lyrically, it really resonates with me, as an introverted, shy person who faces the burden of possessing uncontainable ambition.  To follow our big dreams, both Lorde and I have to break through our fears, burst out of our shells.  It'll be hard, but it's going to be worth it.  This remix is cool.  As one Youtube commenter said, it's got a strong Clams Casino vibe to it.

THE LOVE CLUB
I am obsessed with the background vocals in this song, that harmony is so pretty and catchy.  To me, this song solidifies Lorde's status as a successful pop artist.  Full of substance and ear candy simultaneously.
