HEMSGOD

I'm really proud to say I'm Canadian lately, because in the music industry, us Northerners have been making our mark.  Whether it's super-cool, eccentric It Girl, Grimes, electro-pop Purity Ring, or the re-vamped sound of long-time favourites, Tegan & Sara, Canada is doin' it right.  A lesser known, but equally awesome producer hailing from the East Coast, Ryan Hemsworth is TOTALLY worth checking out if you're into pop, R&B, hip hop, and electronic music in general.  He's done some awesome work, remixing Frank Ocean, Grimes, and Mikky Ekko songs, as well as releasing his own stuff and is definitely someone you need to know.

Here are some of my FAVOURITES:









Ryan is extremely obsessed with Craig David and 90's hip hop.  He has amazing taste in music, and is perhaps one of the most creative DJs on the scene right now.  For these reasons, I am strongly convinced we are soulmates.  Haha, what can I say, in addition to being in awe of his talent, I may have developed a slight puppy-dog crush.  **NO JOURNALISTIC BIAS HERE**.

In one mix, he sampled the "Amanda please!" tagline from everyone's childhood favourite, The Amanda Show, in addition to BSB's Show Me the Meaning (Of Being Lonely), previewing the track on an uploaded video of him busting out in-front of a webcam:

In addition to being CRAZY TALENTED, Hemsworth has a hilarious web presence.  Follow him on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and you'll be quick to witness his one-of-a-kind sense of humour.  For example, his Twitter bio reads: "CANADIAN PRINCE aka ZACK MORRIS OF INTERNET aka REMIX RYAN GOSLING aka MR. STEAL YOUR WIFI".

   We've even interacted (and I subsequently proceeded to fangirl pretty hard...)
