DOG DAYS

HEY YOU, check out this song by East of Ely, it's awesome, and free to download!:

Recent pix from around tha house.  Enjoying the stillness of country life, armed with a pile of good books (The Magus!  Rules of Attraction! The Rum Diary!) for these last few weeks pre-school.  I'm so excited to go back to Queen's for my final year (gasp, already...), but am definitely going to miss the Zen-ness of home.  Long sunny days saturated with yoga, tea, new music and old friends are a winning combination, it seems impossible that before I know it, I'll have my nose crammed in a textbook.

My upcoming semester is seriously so cool though.  I'm crazy excited for my fall lab, The Human Musculoskeletal System- cutting into specimen, like yeauhhhh.  I'm such a science nerd.  A proud test tube baby.  The best thing about being a biology major is knowing that every day you have the opportunity to learn and discover with so many of your peers, some of whom will go on to solve medical mysteries and bring relief to the masses, as scientists, doctors, pharmacists, politicians, etc.  It's definitely a cheesy philosophy, but I always remind myself of this blessing whenever times get stressful or marks don't go the way I want them to.  What I'm doing at school is more than just getting the right answers on a multiple choice test or making it through to the weekend.  It's challenging myself to become the academic leader I've always strived to be.

On another note, why has it been three whole years since frosh week?  So many amazing memories at this school, can't wait to make the best of the upcoming year.  I wish I could do it all over again.
