ADVENTURES IN TORONTO

The past weekend, after an anxiety-filled July (onset: my G road test... I passed ;)), I was long overdue for a quick lil vacay.  So I packed my bags, headed off to Toronto, and prepared myself for the experience of my life- The Mrs. Carter Show.

If you were born in the nineties in North America, your life has probably been influenced to some degree by the booty shaking, anthem belting tactics of Beyonce Knowles, the Queen of Pop herself.  I certainly can attest that I fell under Bey's spell at a young age, belting out Destiny's Child tracks like Say My Name and Survivor in the shower, in a pitch that would surely offend Simon Cowell.  I've been a diehard fan from those early days up until her most recent album, 4, a collection of songs that is very sentimental to me for many reasons.  You may brush her off as just another celebrity, a pop star underserving of being acknowledged as a true artist or musician, but this judgement couldn't be further from the truth.  Bey is one of the hardest workers in the business, paying meticulous attention to her craft and ensuring that only top quality material is released (well, except for her perfume, Heat, but I can forgive her for this).  She is Superwoman, Wonder Woman, Joan of Arc and Diana Ross combined, a true beauty inside and out, and a truly inspiring individual.

From the 300 section of the Air Canada Centre, I squealed with anticipation and excitement, and most of the concert went by in utter disbelief that I was under the same roof as my idol, singing along to personal favourites such as Love On Top, Crazy In Love, and the absolute best live song of all time, Irreplaceable.  Such a fun show, put on by an amazing person who constantly reminds me to aspire to make people realize- I Was Here.

Pre-concert, I spent some time wandering around The Eaton Centre and Yorkville, drooling over the window displays at Holts (a girl can dream).  Here are some Instas from my trip!
